The Dance Register

The Dance Register - the UK Register of Dance Teachers, Leaders and Artists - launched at Move It on 8 March 2013 and is:

A dedicated searchable online database of dance teachers, leaders and artists who have been assessed as meeting The Dance Register's Minimum Entry Requirements
Accessible to dance teachers, leaders and artists through membership of the following organisations: the Council for Dance Education and Training (CDET), Dance UK, the Exercise Movement and Dance Partnership (EMDP) and the Foundation for Community Dance (FCD). Teachers can also join The Dance Register directly via the website.

Access to The Dance Register for those wishing to find a dance teacher is free. Users can search using a range of search options including by postcode, dance style, age group taught and people taught and/or setting. Users can then access more information about a teacher (eg. level of experience, qualifications, wider professional experience, recent training/continuing professional development) from his or her individual profile, which also includes photos, testimonials, uploaded CVs and other relevant information.

The Dance Register provides a nationally recognised "one-stop-shop" website for people looking for a suitably qualified and/or experienced dance teacher. It also allows dance professionals to reach the widest possible range of potential employers and participants, and to publicise key information about their work through a dedicated online profile.

The Dance Register is supported by Arts Council England, the Council for Dance Education and Training, and the Exercise Movement and Dance Partnership as part of their investment from Sport England.

The Dance Register launched at Move It 2013.
